Belarusian rubles in 2000 have now been withdrawn from circulation. They can’t pay in shops and other places. Tourists often ask how much money to take to Belarus? The exact answer depends on how you are going to rest, but we do not recommend taking large sums of cash. There are enough ATMs in Belorussia, so you can always withdraw the right amount.

American Express, Visa, MasterCard bank cards are accepted almost everywhere in Belarus. The only exceptions are small family restaurants, mini-hotels and souvenir shops. With the card of the Russian payment system “MIR” it will not be possible to pay for purchases by cashless payment. However, you can withdraw money from it, but only at ATMs of VTB Belarus Bank.
